Frontier peace officer. Charles Connelly was the City Marshal of Coffeyville, Kansas. He was killed in the line of duty while attempting to defend the town from the Dalton Gang of outlaws when they tried to rob two banks at once in the town. Marshal Connelly is memorialized at Panel 3, W-11 on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC.
