"Horrible Death of Little Georgie May.
Olaton, KY., July 19, 1891. On Wednesday, July 15th, Mr. A.W. May and his little son George started to Spring Lick with a wagon for repairs. Mr. May was driving the team to the wagon and his little boy riding a mule which became frightened and turning suddenly, threw the little fellow from the saddle. His foot hung in the stirrup and the mule ran about 150 or 200 yards, dragging him over the rocks, before he came loose. He was bruised and badly cut and when found was insensible. He was carried to Spring Lick where he died an hour later.
Little Georgie was a bright boy, eight years old, whom everybody liked and will be greatly missed by his playmates.
His remains were laid in the family burying ground at the Pilgrim church, Grayson county. We extend to the bereaved family our heart-felt sympathies." Courtesy of Sabrina K Combs -- Thank You Sabrina!
