He was born in Morgan County on Feb. 22, 1905 the son of David N. and Anna Jane Purl McGinnis. He was united in marriage to Ida Stepp in Jan., 1941.
In 1958 he was united in marriage with Gladys Cole, who survives at the home in Kansas City.
Others surviving are his father, of Versailles; a daughter, Margaret Willis and a son, Charles McGinnis, both of California, Mo.; five brothers, Claude, J.D. and Kenneth, Versailles, O.L. of Kansas City and Hubert of New York; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Cooper of Versailles and Mrs. Wanda Mauzey of Kansas City and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, one daughter, five sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held at the Bowlin Funeral Home in California at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan.5. Burial was in the Versailles cemetery.
