Andy Gene McGinnis, 21, Versailles, died early Wednesday morning, June 4, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Eldon on Business 54. He was born Oct. 14, 1964 in Jefferson City, the son of James D. and Fern Bland McGinnis.
He was a 1983 graduate of Morgan County R-2 High School, and was employed at Fasco Industries in Eldon.
He is survived by his parents, J.D. and Fern McGinnis, of the home; four brothers, Phil McGinnis, Till McGinnis, Dennis McGinnis, and Randy McGinnis, all of Versailles; two sisters, Brenda Caviness and Ramona McGinnis, both of Versailles; his paternal grandmother, Rozella Porter, Versailles; his paternal great grandmother, Jane Walters, Versailles; five nieces, two nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gerald Hamlett officiating. Mary Hamlett sang "Sheltered In The Arms of God" and "In the Garden." Interment was in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery. Casketbearers were Kenneth McGinnis, Roger Bland, Jim Jacobs, Curtis Bland, T.W. Bland, and Al Surritte. Arrangements were under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
