Funeral services for Paul B Norris 71, prominently known oil well equipment manufacturer and civic leader of Robinson were held Sunday afternoon at the Pullman Funeral Home with the Rev Father Paul Baker officiating. Interment was in the Robinson New Cemetery with Ernest M Coulter Post of the American Legion performing military rites. Masonic ritual had been conducted at the funeral home on the preceding Saturday evening.
Mr Norris chairman of the board of Norris Brothers INC succumbed at 2:30 a.m. Friday at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital following extended illness.
Son of the late Daniel E Norris one of the founders of Norris Brothers and Jane Burrows Norris, he grew up in Robinson IL and ultimately succeeded his father as executive officer of the company. He was a graduate of Robinson High School where he was a member of the championship basketball team which went to the Illinois state tournament only to loose in the final round. He attended Rose Poly Technical in Terre Haute and Purdue University in West Lafayette IN was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Born in Tiona PA he came to Robinson in 1906 when the oil was just getting underway.
In WWI Paul served as US Marine Corps and a proud exponent of the branch of service and was very pleased when his grandson Paul Delbert Lyons recently chose that branch of service.
