MAMIE VERONA ARMSTRONG LILES, 89, died Thursday, March 23, 2006, holding her granddaughter's hand at Pimlico Manor in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born in Lewis County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elsie Bryant Armstrong.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jane Ann and Richard Riggs of Lexington, Kentucky, and two grandchildren, Jonathan Richard Matthew Riggs of Los Angeles, California, and Jennifer Leigh Riggs of Lexington; and one brother, Ronald Chester Armstrong of Charters, Kentucky.
Mamie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Granville Chester Liles, and five brothers and two sisters, Royal, Delbert, Davis, Haska, Eric, Sarah and Madeline Blankenship.
She remained a faithful member of the Lincoln Avenue Church of Christ in Bucyrus, where she resided for more than 50 years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gaydos Funeral Home, Vanceburg, Kentucky, with Rick Morris officiating. Visitation will be at 11:30 a.m. Sunday until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Stone Cemetery, Scott's Branch, Kentucky.
