Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home for Emmett Malone Sullivan of Fayetteville, who died Thursday night (Feb, 27, 1992) in the Huntsville Hospital following a short illness. He was 87. The Rev. Ed Johnson officiated. Burial followed in the Lincoln Cemetery beside his late wife, Mary Lou Howell Sullivan, who died in 1989.

A native of Lincoln County and the son of the late Alb and Patty Hazelwood Sullivan, he was a farmer and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include five daughters, Ruby Woodward of Petersburg, Bobbie Clark, Stacy Clark and Ruth Durham, all of Fayetteville, and Leona Bernard of Dearborn, Mi.; a son, Charles Sullivan of Fayetteville; 26 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
