Letter from Dr. Alan Zempel says her name was Charlotte Louise Von Botte/Boette (pronounced Von Baytee) and when she married William Splittstoesser, not a blue blood, she was disowned. She was a cousin to Kaiser Wilhelm II, or maybe a 2nd cousin. When he died she received a letter to come home and receive her share of the estate, but she burned the letter. He also stated that the name Schadevaldt comes in someplace. Letter to Bud Fredericks, attached to letter from Dr. Alan Zempel, dated 18 September 1995. Entered by Kenneth C. Stiles (2 August 2001)
