Dr. Roy D. Kirkland, 75, of Coleman, Texas, died Friday, Aug. 2, 1985, at the home of his son-in-law David Allen of Kyle, Texas. A son of James and Ida Houck Kirkland, he was born March 20, 1909, at Clymer RD 1 [Pennsylvania]. Surviving are his wife, Alethi; his son-in-law with whom he resided; one grand-daughter; a sister, Mrs. Emerson (Florence) Brocious of Brookville [Pennsylvania]; and two brothers, Vernon and Chester both of Clymer RD 1 [Pennsylvania]. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Earl, harry, Ortie and Murray. Services were held at the Pennington Funeral Home, Kyle, Texas, on Monday, Aug. 5.
