Mr. Darnell was a graduate of East High School and held several business degrees. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked over 45 years in the furniture industry and retired from Haverty's.
He is survived by his sisters, Betty Woodall, Brenda Dugger and Sherry Darnell Huff; brother, William S. Darnell; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mr. Darnells life will be conducted at 3 P.M., Friday, January 6, 2012 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 until 8 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
