1860 living in Princeton, Il with Husband James and son Charles
1870 living with her parents John & Betsy Crittenden in Princeton, Il, and son Charles

Mrs. Frances Birge, a former resident of this city was killed last Saturday at Miami, Oklahoma, where she has been making her home for a number of years. The elderly lady had left her home to walk to the post office to mail a letter and when crossing the tracks in that city she was hit by a passing train. The funeral was held in this city from the home of her sister, Mrs. Ella C. Dexter, on Pleasant St., with burial in Oakland cemetery.

Mrs. Birge was born in Pittsfield, Mass., June 25, 1833. When a mere child she came to the county with her parents and settled in Princeton and for years lived on South Church street. Mrs. Birge was twice married. Her first husband was James Fitzmaurice of Boston, Mass., to whom she was united in marriage October 19, 1854. One son, Charles, was born to them. He passed away about five years ago. Mr. Fitzmaurice died October 19, 1863. After 21 years of widowhood, Mrs. Fitzmaurice accepted the proposal of James Rensalaer Birge, of Torrington, Conn. and they were married Nov. 29, 1885. Shortly afterward they moved to Nebraska. Three years ago they took up their residence at Miami, Oklahoma.

The death of Mrs. Birge leaves Mrs. Dexter the sole survivor of the Crittenden family, which traces its ancestors back to the revolution.
