The only child of Percy J & Mabel L Affeld Havercroft, she was born & raised in Elgin, IL. She worked in youth services, in Golden, CO & volunteered for many civic groups & national organizations including UNICEF, the Zonta Club, League of Women Voters, Foothills Art Center, Jefferson County Symphony, the Astor House Museum and Golden Landmarks Association. She also loved attending the opera and was a regular in Santa Fe and Central City. Joan's affection for her cats is legendary and she was a generous donor to the Cat Care Society. Joan will be forever remembered and missed by her friends & family.
