Mr. Charles H. Marvin Jr., a former Aiken city councilman, died Friday, July 14, 1995, at Transylvania Community Hospital, Brevard, N.C. He was 82.
Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Mr. Marvin, a longtime resident of Aiken, was a graduate of Rice Business College, Charleston. He retired from the Clay Division of J.M. Huber Corp. as vice president after 43 years of service. He had been a member of Aiken City Council for 28 years and had served chairman of Area 1 School Board. He was member of the Aiken Rotary Club, the Aiken Businessmen's Club and the Palmetto Golf Club.
He was a Paul Harris Fellow and was named Young Man of the Year by the Aiken Jaycees. He was a member of Aiken First Presbyterian Church, where he served as Sunday school superintendent, deacon and elder. He was a trustee of Faith Memorial Chapel, Cedar Mountain, N.C.
