Barbara was the only daughter of George H. Helenbrook and Doris "Dolly" Rose Helenbrook. She had two brothers, John and Tom.

Barbara married George Allen "Al" Taylor on October 16, 1976 in New York State.

They had two children: Eric and Christina.

She was smart, funny, had the most creative, sharp sense of humor and wit. When she and Allen had moved to Salt Lake City for him to attend the University of Utah my son was about 3 years old. He would sit on her knee while she whispered stories to him. He adored her. One day, while he and I were waiting in line at the grocery store, he noticed a package of mushrooms in the cart. Sotto voce (of course) he said: "I am not going to eat those, mushrooms make you horney!" (Literal, like most children...) The cashier and others in line, just broke down laughing so hard they could barely stand. A Barbara-ism! My husband who loved her as another sister, warned her that he would reciprocate when she had her own children. Later, she told us that they moved to avoid his promise! How many of her family and friends have these wonderful memories of her? All, of course!

She majored in accounting and did receive her C.P.A. She loved it. Barb was practically a mermaid the way she had the affiniity for water and water sports. Let's face it, the Great Salt Lake could not compare to the Atlantic or the Pacific Oceans--or Tonowanda.

Complications from cancer therapy stopped her fight, which she bravely waged.

She was preceded in death by her father, George - 2004, and brother, John - 2003.
