SIBYL LAWSON, 98
Sibyl Lawson, 98, of New Boston, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Greenbriar Convalescent Center in Wheelersburg.
She was born April 10, 1902, in Van Lear, Ky., a daughter of the late Robert Wilson Akers and Minnie Myrtle Davis Akers. She was a housewife, and of the Baptist faith.
She also was preceded in death, Sept. 22, 1985, by her husband, Charles Burke Lawson, whom she married Nov. 24, 1920, in Portsmouth; on brother, Virgil Akers; and three sisters, Loanna Hamilton, Lucy Harr and Gertrude Pyles.
Surviving are on son, Don Lawson of Sierra Madre, Calif.; one daughter, Betty Bramblett of Wheelersburg; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Don Wolfe Funeral Home in Sciotoville, and interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m Monday at the funeral home.
