Lloyola Reese, 89, Pipestone, formerly of Woodstock, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 at Pipestone County Hospice House, Pipestone.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 26 at St. James Lutheran Church, Holland, with Rev. Adam Harvala officiating.

Casket bearers were her grandsons, Todd, Scott, Shawn, Brendon and Chase Reese, Mike and Tom Fritz, Brian Stace, Matthew Kranick, Mason Palmer, and Donald Maroschek.
Interment was in Woodstock Cemetery, Woodstock.

Lloyola Janice Reese was born to Lloyd and Hattie (Stoltenberg) Ihlan on Oct. 5, 1920 in Pipestone. She was raised in Trosky and began her education there. When she was 13-years-old, she moved with her family to a farm near Woodstock, where she finished country school. Upon completion of he education, she worked in Pipestone.
She married Victor Reese on Oct. 25, 1940 at St. John Lutheran Church in Woodstock. Following their marriage they resided on the Reese farm. In 1975, Vic and Lloyola "Ole" retired from farming and moved to an acreage in Burke Township where they built their retirement home.

Victor preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 2002. After his death, Ole continued to live on the acreage until 2006 when she became a resident of Falls Landing in Pipestone.
On Saturday, Oct. 17 she was admitted to the Pipestone County Medical Center. On Friday, Oct. 23 she was transferred to the Pipestone County Hospice House.
While living in Woodstock, she was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church. When the church closed, she became a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Holland.

She is survived by her five children, Barbara (Gene) Kranick, Rush City; James (Marcia) Reese, Lake Wilson; Michael (Cindy) Reese, Woodstock; Patricia (Harlan) Fritz, Sioux Falls, S.D. and Richard (Jule) Reese, Woodstock; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter, Lynn Maroschek who died in 1992; two brothers, Norman and Ellert Ihlan and one sister, Adeline Pederson.
