Albert C. Smith, age 81, of East Main Street, Kingston, Georgia, passed away Wednesday evening, November 2, 2011 at his residence.
Mr. Smith was born February 25, 1930 in Kingston, Georgia, son of the late Herman Felton Smith and Ruth Carroll Smith. He was retired from General Motors, was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the 1st Calvary U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Georgia Rolan Smith; son, Phil Smith; daughter, Cindy Haynes; grandchildren, Amanda Haynes and Hunter Haynes; sisters, Ann & Bill Crabtree, Bebe Maxwell; sister & brother-in-law, Carol & Howard Tyler; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, November 5th at 4:00 P.M. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Andy Potate and Rev. Joel Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Ronnie Smith, Bill Journey, Steve Crabtree, Tommy Smith, Rodney Tyler, Jimmy Parris, Hunter Haynes and Trae Lovin.
