DIMMITT - Danice Wright, 44, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vergil Ichtertz, pastor, and the Rev. Rusty Dickerson, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wright was born June 12, 1959, in Fort Dix, N.J. Danice grew up in a military family living various places around the world including Bangkok, Thailand. She graduated from Killeen High School in 1977.

She received her BS degree from Texas A&M in 1981 with outstanding recognition in the Parks and Recreation Department. She received her teaching certificate from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview in 1989. She taught a year in Hart Independent School District and taught at Olsen Park Elementary in Amarillo from 1990 until December 2003.

She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the hand bell choir and served on many boards. She married Jim Wright on April 3, 1982, in College Station.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Cliff Wright of Dimmitt; a daughter, Jinna Wright of Dimmitt; her parents, Dan and Shirley Davis of Lago Vista; two brothers, Darrell Davis and wife, Peggy, of Fairfax Station, Va., and Don Davis of Bryan; and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to Danice Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of First United Bank, P.O. Box 929, Dimmitt, TX 79027; or a favorite charity.
