Missouri Elizabeth "Betsy" Hughey was born in Salem according to state records, however there is no specification as to where that is. It is currently assumed that it is in reference to Salem District at Farrar In Perry County Missouri.

Her parents are Robert Franklin Hughey and Mary Elizabeth (Swan) Hughey whom are buried in Shiloh Cemetery at Seventy Six Missouri on the farm of Judge Barber (somewhere between Brazeau and Seventy Six Missouri).

Missouri joined into holy matrimony with Milus M. Clary on November 2, 1882 in Perry County Missouri, in Salem Township. Franklin Hughey was the witness at their wedding. She joined the Brazeau Presbyterian Church on October 6, 1900.

Betsy and Miles appear as the parents on 3 Missouri Birth Certificates. Their names vary on those certificates as Betsy Hughey/Clary, Missouri Elizabeth Hughey/Clary, Missouri Elizabet Hughey/Clary, Miles Clary, and Marion Clary. The children whom have birth certificates are Idell Clary born in Saline Twp, Perry County, Missouri on March 26, 1884, John William their 5th born September 28, 1890 in Brazeau, Perry County, Missouri(no other records exist for him) and an Unnamed child their 6th born December 19, 1891 in Brazeau Twp, Perry County, Missouri.

Betsy lived on the Barber farm with Milas and their children rearing the kids and doing house work. She bore 10 children in her life time, all to Miles.

She passed away a widow September 16, 1922 in Brazeau, Perry County, Missouri. She was laid to rest behind the church she attended in life.

Her siblings were James, Nancy, Margaret, Georgia, Mary, Louise, and William according to census data.

There is currently a glaring error on her death certificate. She is listed as Missouri Clory. Her descendants are currently in communication with the Bureau of Vital Records to make corrections. She lived in rough times suffered the loss of some of her young children and it is believed this photo was taken at her husbands funeral. She looks so lost there.
