Marlan D. Barnes, 47, died Sunday at home. Born in Lima, he formerly worked at Teleflex in Van Wert. Surviving are his stepfather and mother, Robert and Cuba Coil, both of Van Wert; his wife, Connie; four sons, David, Brandon and Kyle all of Van Wert and Shane of Convoy; a daughter, Nikki Barnes of Van Wert; a brother, Kenneth "Mike" of Paulding; and three sisters, Melody Long and Marsha McMillen, of both of Van Wert and Marjean Smith of Delphos. Services at 10:30 a.m. EDT (9:30 a.m Fort Wayne time) Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. Calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.m EDT Thursday. Burial in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Memorials to the family.
