CHRISTOPHER -- Norman Kirkpatrick, 78, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at home.

He was a coalminer retired from Old Ben 24. He was a member of UMWA.

Norman was born March 3, 1933, in Christopher to Harley M. and Marie (Watson) Kirkpatrick.

He married Wanda (Hall) Kirkpatrick on Sept. 1, 1952, and she survives of Christopher.

Survivors include children, Patty and Mike McCubbins of Benton, Norman Kirkpatrick of Mulkeytown; grandchildren, Ryan Payne, Page Kirkpatrick, Sean Payne, Amanda Yosanovich; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Dustin, SadieJo, Camden, Colton, Olivia, Drake, Isla, Harper and Trace; two great-stepgrandchildren, Lucas and Rowen; brothers and sisters, Phyllis Grubbs of Christopher, Virginia Waller of Christopher and Richard and Sue Kirkpatrick of Christopher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Hester Salo and Ruby Kirkpatrick

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, in Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher with Brother Larry Cook officiating. Interment will be in Mulkeytown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at the funeral home.
