MARION - Herbert Bryant, 61, died Friday morning at his home after along illness.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Zion Southern Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Ramaley officiating. Masonic rites will be held at the graveside at Old Zion Cemetery. Arrangements are by Smith Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Bryant was born in Marion County, a son of the late D. C. Bryant and Mrs. Mattie Perritt Bryant of the Zion community.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Corine Perritt Bryant; four sons, Cecil Bryant, Bobby Bryant, Harry Bryant and Ray Bryant, all of the Zion community; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Lane and Mrs. Jon M. Rogers of the Zion community; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle White of Marion and Mrs. Elsie Lane of Andrews; a brother, Rembert Bryant of Zion; and 9 grandchildren.
