Albert Moses Hammond, 82, of Rogersville died Thursday at ECM Hospital. He was a native of Lauderdale County and a retired farmer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Anderson Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Weaver and Rev. J. L. Yeager officiating. Burial will be in Barnett Cemetery with Morrison-Elkins Funeral Home directing arrangements. He is survived by his widow, Vella Hammond; his sons, James Etison Hammond of Lexington and Jesse Horace Hammond of Harriman, Tennessee; his daughters, Laura Mae Word and Susie White, both of Anderson; his brother, Jasper Calvin Hammond of Rogersville; his sisters, Eliza Ann "Lida" Pierce of Pulaski, Tennessee and Sarah Ellen Eastep of Athens; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
