It is with sad hearts that the Fielder Family announces the passing of Betty Julia Lee Fielder. Sweet "Bubba" passed away surrounded by the ones she loved on January 7, 2012.
Betty lived an abundant and most selfless life. She opened her home to all her friends and family. She loved everyone, but loved her grandchildren immensely.
Ms. Fielder was born in Columbia, SC, on January 10, 1927 a daughter of the late William Dewey Lee (1898-1959) and Alice Bessie Lee.
She was a graduate of Columbia High School and attended Columbia College. Ms. Fielder was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the "Evening Hardees' Bunch."
She was predeceased by a daughter, Jill Fielder Huntley; a brother, William Dewey Lee, Jr.; and a nephew, William Dewey "Billy" Lee, III.
Betty is survived by daughters, Julia Lee Fielder and husband Don Sanders, Jennifer Fielder Horne and husband Tony Horne; grandchildren, Hunt Huntley and wife Anne, Fielder Huntley, Libby Robertson, and Jake Robertson; great-grandchildren, Jill and Ali Huntley; a niece, Robin Inman; a nephew, David Lee; great-nieces, Lauren Inman, Lindsey Inman and Hannah Lee; a great-great-niece, Jayci Claire Bates; and a great-great-nephew, Hunter Ryan Vassey.
She was also loved by Harry and Kathy Huntley, Kathryn Huntley, Jennings Huntley, Courtney Horne, Dr. Gerald and Lora Fielder, a special friend, Vic Mallett, and her faithful dog, Coby.
Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Caughman. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Steve Willard, Harry Huntley, Jerry Parham, Nick Small, Christian Adamo, David Gregory, Bruce Inman, Jeff Atkinson, and Donnie Vaughan.
The family received friends, Monday, January 9, 2012 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 PM.
