Valsin Amy, 67, died at his residence today @ 7:30am after an illness of three months. He has been the owner of the Amy Tin shop on Seventh Street for 23 years. A native of St. Martinville, La., he had lived in Port Arthur since 1907. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be conducted from St. James church Thursday at 10am. by Grammier's Funeral home.
Rosary will be recited for Mr. Amy today at 8pm in Grammier's chapel.
Surviving are three sisters, Miss Leila Amy and Mrs. A. W. Laurents of Port Arthur, and Mrs. Robert (Laure Amy) Fournet of Lake Charles., La. and three nephews and six nieces.
He was my grandmother's first cousin.
