George "Bob" Robert Hargreaves died April 21 of congestive heart failure. He was 91.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. May 10 at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Sisters. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Santa Barbara Cemetery in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Mr. Hargreaves was born March 31, 1917, in Detroit, the son of Robert and Jeannette Hargreaves. He graduated from Williams College in Massachusetts. He married Dorothy Lindquist on Dec. 3, 1944. After Dorothy's death, he married Mary Moore on April 5, 1997.
Mr. Hargreaves served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1946. He worked at the National Bank of Detroit, the Ford Motor Co. and United Laboratories, and he was the president of Towne Paulson Co. in Pasadena, Calif., retiring in 1976.
He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Sisters for 21 years.
He enjoyed sports, especially golf and tennis.
He lived in Central Oregon for 21 years.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Bruce, William, Richard and Jeffrey; a stepson, Richard Moore; two daughters, Anne Mealiffe and Nancy Kettenhofen; two stepdaughters, Polly Moore and Meg Duvall; a sister, Ruth Backhurst; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and a brother.
