Death of Young Mother
Mrs. Lyda Loft Dies After a Long Illness. Funeral Services Today
The many friends and relatives of Mrs. Lyda Tedford Loft were grieved to learn on Monday morning that she had passed away at the home of her parents at 11:30 o'clock the evening before, after a year lingering illness.
Lyda Tedtord, daughter of D.M. and Dollie Tedford, was born April 17, 1904, at Excello in Macon county, and was 23 years, 2 months and 2 days old at the time of her death. The greater part of her life was spent in Clarence as she came here with her parents twenty years ago. She was married May 4, 1922, to Ernest Loft and two children were born to this union, Joseph D., who passed away last August at the age of two and a half years of age and Nova Nadine, a dear little girl, who, with the husband mother and father, survives. Four brothers preceded her in death, Frank, Ernest, Bryan and one brother who died in infancy.
Mrs. Loft was much admired by her friends and acquaintances and was a lovable, Christian character. She was a member of the Christian church, having united with that church under the pastorate of J. W. Pearson Nov. 11, 1915, and she has lived a consistent Christian life.
Dearest Lyda thou hast left us,
Here thy loss we deeply feel
But it is God that has bereft us
He will heal our sorrows here.
The funeral services will be held at the Christian church this afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. C. E. Nichols of Princeton, Mo. Interment will be in Maplewood cemetery.
