Noah R. Robinson died at his home on 220 West Boston street, Monday evening at 6:20 o’clock, March 29, 1937. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the funeral home of Hunter & Rollins, conducted by the Rev. Harry Cook, pastor of the United Brethren church, and internment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
The Budget-Gazette recently conducted a contest to determine the oldest male and female citizens of Brookfield. Mr. Robinson was accorded the honor of being the oldest male citizen of Brookfield.
He was born in Ohio on September 15, 1843, and when a young man came to Missouri and was employeed by the Burlington railroad as gate tender at Chillicothe for many years until he was retired on pension. He later moved to Brookfield where he had since resided.
He is survived by his wife, Mahala; one daughter, Mrs. Alice Moore, of this city; two sons, Henry, of St. Joseph, and Irvin of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Ray, Carl and Eddie Moore, Mrs. Fay Veal and Mrs. S.E. Owings of this city.
Mr. Robinson was well known and liked and had many friends in Brookfield since moving here who will mourn his passing.
