Jone Elizabeth Champion, born on Apr 16, 1906 in Tiago TX, died Saturday Apr 10 at Baptist Medical Center in OKC. She was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Cook and John Egbert Steel.

Jone spent most of her life as a resident of OKC and was preceded in death by her husband, Martin H Champion; brothers Otis and Charles Steel; sisters, Jean Spears, Lala B Fowler, Ruth Pryor, Mayme Kerns, and Jessica Willis.

She is survived by two nieces, Sue Wilson (Mrs Vernon C) of OKC, and Jane Kraettll (Mrs Marvin F) of Dallas. Other survivors are great nieces and great nephews (names omitted). Jone is also survived by great great nieces and nephews.

Jone was in the retail fur business for many years and was Miss Oklahoma of 1929. She was a member of the Altrusa Club, the Sew and Sew Club, and the Rividere Book Club.

Memorial services will be at 2 pm Wednesday, Oct 14, 1999 at Hahn, Cook, Street & Draper Funeral Home with Jone's great great nephew, Chris Briggs of Houston, helping to officiate.
