Mrs. Olive Myrtie Seitler, 95, resident of 609 Bidwell St. passed today at ten a.m. at the Provincial House in Marshall, where she had been a patient since last Thursday. She had been in failing health for a year and seriously ill since November.
Mrs. Seitler, daughter of George and Climena (Day) Crowell, was born on Oct. 27, 1873, at Kalamo in Eaton County. She was married there to John A. Seitler Nov. 14, 1893. Mr. Seitler died in 1936.
Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Olive) Morgan with whom she lived, and Mrs. Louie (Lena) Lusk, both of Albion, and Mrs. William (Annabelle) Neufer, Springport; 23 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. Two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Gladys) Burch and Mrs. Edgar (Gertrude) Hartford, and two sons, John and Truman, preceded her in death.
My great-great grandmother, I was only 3 yrs. of age when she passed. But I can remember her setting in her stair slowly rocking in the foyer. I was a fifth-generation child, and very proud to have been born into such a wonderful family!
Wish I would have gotten the chance to know you better....With Love, Lisa
(I would also like to thank Frank Passic, Albion Historian and Mary Houghton of the Albion Public Library for all there help with my family records)
