Vehicle Turns Over Three Times on Rural Road; Driver is Hurt Two Rivers-A trip in this city and nearby places by two youthful servicemen, home on Christmas furloughs, ended fatally for one of them late Friday night.

A car in which they were riding left a town road a half mile east of Highway 42 a mile north of this city and rolled over three times. Injured was Dale W. Weber, 20, of 1818 14th St., who died two hours after the accident in the Municipal Hospital. He suffered a skull fracture and internal injuries. Hospitalized was Weber's companion, Gerald Zinn, 19, of 1200 Madison St. He was unconscious most of the night, but Saturday his injuries were described as not too serious. He suffered skull injuries. Both youths were thrown clear of the car, according to Officer Paul Schroeder, who answered the call. A passing motorist came upon the wrecked car and the two servicemen lying nearby and summoned traffic officers.

Dr. Theodore Teitgen, county coroner, was called to the scene but could not question Zinn. Later Saturday Capt. William Ladwig visited the hospital and talked briefly with Zinn who had regained consciousness. The latter said he was driving the car of his father, Carl Zinn, when the crash occurred. Weber's death brought to 17 the number of fatalities in traffic accidents in Manitowoc County in 1953. The coroner in checking the movements of Weber and Zinn before the accident said they had been at the Nitengale tavern on Highway 42, north of Two Rivers. Their companions said they left the tavern, presumably to go to another tavern on the Sandy Bay road. The Zinn car, they added, turned north on Highway 42. The accident happened at 11:24 pm according to the traffic officer's report. Coroner Teitgen said holding an inquest will have to await outcome of Zinn's injuries.
