Gar worked for the Great Western railroad and later as an electrician.
He is survived by his daughters; Betty Coleman, Helen Griffin and Norma Manders. He was preceded in death by a daughter Janice Ann in 1924, his parents Charles and Helen "Nellie" and brother, Glen C.
Burial was in the Pine Island Cemetery, Pine Island, MN.
