Garfield Bernard Joslyn was born July 18, 1897 to Charles C. Joslyn and Helen "Nellie" Callanan Joslyn. He was raised in Mantorville Township, Dodge County, Minnesota He married Vera Parkin, daughter of Edgar and Anna Parkin of Pine Island. Gar worked for the Great Western railroad and later as an electrician.

He is survived by his daughters; Betty Coleman, Helen Griffin and Norma Manders. He was preceded in death by a daughter Janice Ann in 1924, his parents Charles and Helen "Nellie" and brother, Glen C.

Burial was in the Pine Island Cemetery, Pine Island, MN.
