Frances Cleveland Taylor was born near Pomeroy, Washington, on Jan. 27, 1887, the daughter of William Samuel Taylor and his wife Sarah Ellen Holland. Her mother called her "Frank" in her letters, and her father, "Frankie." She was known as "Aunt Frances" to her nieces and nephews.

When was about three years old, her family moved to the Portland, Oregon, area where she grew up.

When she was 18, Frances married Ernest Bertram "Bert" Sears in Portland, on Oct. 16, 1905. They had a son, Arthur Boyd Sears, born Jul. 3, 1910, Portland. Frances' second marriage was to Henry A. Abraham (Apr. 11, 1874-Aug. 24, 1944). She died of a heart attack two days before her 87th birthday. Her third husband, Herbert Browning Lynskey (b. Nov. 16, 1895), survived her.
