Laura was the daughter of Dennis Alexander Mars and Peva Smith Mars. She was born in Maud,Oklahoma April 5, 1910. On July 2, 1927, she married Curtis Russell "Russ" Guinn in Tecumseh, OK, the then county seat of Pottawatomie County. They made their home in Maud and Goldsby before moving to Ojai, CA in 1941, where she worked for an orange packing plant until retirement. They returned to Maud and lived on land purchased from her father, that he recieved as an Indian allotment. She was the mother of 5, grandmother of 10 and great-great grandmother to many. She will be remembered by her friends and family for her laughter and her smile.
