Obituary:
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Arthur "Artie" Benjamin Schwietert will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at Trail Christian Fellowship, 18881 Hwy. 62, Eagle Point. Pastor Don Holmes will officiate.
Artie, 50, of Eagle Point, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, in his home.
He was born on July 15, 1955, in Medford, OR to Herb Wesley Schwietert and Maydene Loretta Schwietert. He had lived in the Rogue Valley all of his life. On June 10, 1995, in Lake Tahoe he married the love of his life, Robin Ann, who survives.
Artie worked as a welder/inspector at Areva T&D for 28 years.
He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed dirt bike riding, target shooting, camping, playing music, and Star Trek--in fact he would never miss an episode.
Artie was a 20-year member of the Trail Christian Fellowship in Eagle Point.
In addition to his loving wife, Robin, survivors include his sons, Clint Schwietert of Port Orchard, WA, Cody Schwietert of Eagle Point; his sister, Sherry Thorpe and her husband Frank of Gold Hill; his brothers Steven Schwietert and his wife Pam of Grants Pass; Jim Schwietert and his wife Rose of Spartansburg, SC; his mother Maydene Loretta Schwietert of Phoenix, OR; and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Hospice of Southern Oregon, 1660 E. McAndrews Road, Medford, OR 97504.
Artie will be forever loved and truly missed by his wife, children, family, and many wonderful friends.
