Orville David Ballard, former resident of Suffern, died following an automobile accident in Greenwood Lake, Wednesday.
Mr. Ballard, 47, of Clearview Trailer Park, Harriman, was a truck driver for the Ramapo Valley Distributors, Suffern. He was a World War II veteran and past commander of the Ramapo Valley VFW post 2973.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey; a son, David of Monroe; a daughter, Joann of New York City; a stepdaughter, Audrey Wanamaker of Suffern; a stepson, Michael Ross Balovich of Highland Mills; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Birish of Airmont and Mrs. Florence Osborne of Monroe; and six brothers, LeRoy of Monsey, William of Suffern, Russell of Mahwah, N.J., Gerald of Spring Valley, Howard of Rochester, and James of Sloatsburg.
Funeral services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, Route 59, Suffern. The Rev. Rudolph Wissler of the Suffern Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will follow at the Airmont Lutheran Cemetery.
The Ramapo Valley VFW post 2973 will conduct services this evening at 8 p.m.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
