Mrs. Bird was born in Minatare, Nebraska June 28, 1906. She married Phillip Bird April 3, 1926 in Wheatland. A retired cook of the Platte County Memorial Hospital, Bernice was a member of the Banner Rebekah Lodge, the All Saints Episcopal Church and a past member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Good of Wheatland; one sister, Velma Dietz of Wheatland; six grandchildren and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip, December 1953, one son, Elery Wesley, one infant daughter, Maxine Irene, and one brother Wesley Baker.
