The following was in the Monday, October 19, 1936, St. Paul Pioneer Press:

HENRY W. DORNSEIF, 59, EX-INDIAN FIGHTER, DIES

Henry W. Dornseif, 59 years old, 97 North Oxford street, who served with Battery A of the former First Minnesota Field Artillery, National Guard, during the Cass Lake uprising in 1899, died Saturday at Ancker hospital after an illiness of seven weeks.
Born in St. Paul, Mr. Dornseif was educated in local schools, and when he was 22 years old joined Battery A to fight againest the Indians. He served with the battery for three years and was promoted to sergant.
Surviving are his widow; a daughter Lucille a son, Henry; a brother, Frederick, and three sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Elizabeth) Cooley, Mrs. William (Hattie) Hitsman and Mrs Gertrude Ward, all of St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Tuesday in the Kessier & Maguire funeral home, Seventh and St. Claire streets. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.


Also survived by brother Charles Ernest Korfhage of Kansas City, MO.

DORNSEIF -- Henry W. at residence, 97 N. Oxford St., Oct 17. Beloved husband of Catherine Dornseif and father of Lucille & Henry of St. Paul & brother of Fred, Mrs. Marvin (Elizabeth) Cooley, Mrs. William (Hattie) Hitsman & Mrs Gertrude Ward, allof St. Paul.
Funeral from Kessier & Maguire funeral home, Tues., afternoon at 2 o'clock. Internment Calvary. Friends may call after 2 P.M. Monday.
