Willie Albert Evans was born in Ty Ty, Georgia to the late Adell Dillard and Willie Don Evans on June 11, 1943.

Willie Albert Evans was employed as a cook at Stetson University and for more than 20 years served in the United States Army (Staff Sergeant).

At an early age, he joined Saint Paul Holiness Church of DeLand, Florida. He departed this life for a better home on Saturday morning, January 7, 2012 in Green Cove Springs, Florida.

Funeral service for Willie Albert Evans, 68, DeLand, will be held 10am Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Greater Refuge Church of Our Lord, 316 South Adelle Avenue, DeLand, Bishop James B. Darby, pastor and Pastor Pretis Godwin, officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, from 4pm to 7pm at J. E. Cusack Mortuary. Burial and military honors will follow the services at Union Cemetery, DeLand and a repast to follow at New St. John Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted fiancee: Rose Mae Nichols; sons: Leslie and Tim Evans; mother-in-law: Mary Will Fuller; step-children: Alice Hicks, Tina Hicks, Karen Nichols, Willie Hicks, Trina Hicks and Taft Nichols; devoted friend: Nikita Stanley; grandchildren: Keyarrow Douglas and Zylin Douglas; devoted cousins: Teearrow Smith and Douglinitrio Smith and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
