Goldie Mae Maxwell South 94 of Mexico died Thursday January 12, 2012 at Audrain Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Monday at Arnold Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Vandalia City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Mondsy from 10a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Goldie was born on May 26, 1917 in Audrain County to Ed and Adeline (Leeper) Trower.
Goldie married Raymond Maxwell in 1934, he preceded her in death in 1960. She then married Gene South in 1967 and he preceded her in death in 1994.
Goldie is survived by a son, Jerry Maxwell and wife Jane of Mexico. daughter, Bonnie Kay Gibson and husband Lee of Mexico. stepson David South and wife Karen of Palm Bay FL. four grandchildren, Randy Maxwell, Cindy Maxwell, Lisa Oligschlaeger and Matt South, nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
Along with Raymond and Gene Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, J.W. Trower, Glenn Trower, three sisters, Helen Owens, Wilma Lovelace, and Ruby Ogden.
