From the August 5, 1964 edition of the Ellsworth America: Jerico Ford, Va., of wounds received in battle May 28, Tyler RICH, age 21 years, son of John and Margaret Rich of Tremont. He enlisted in 1862 and helped fight the battles of Gettysburg, Wilderness, Spottsylvania, Fitzhugh Crossing, Chancellorsville, Hinkstown, MIne Run, and North Anne River. He embraced religion in camp among his fellow soldiers in the winter of '63. His last words were "Tell my mother I am going home. I die happy."
