Michael Spengler / Spangler was born in Obermodern, Bas Rhin, Alsace. He was the son of Jacob Spengler (written Jacques Spingler in the French records) and Catherine Rusch. He married Anna Mossler / Musler in Philadelphia September 8, 1860. They had 8 children: Mary (married Malone), Kathryn (married Thompson), Frederick (married Bergdoll), George (married Munch), Annie (died young), Charles, Annie (married Heaton), Harry (married Smith). After his wife Anna died, Michael married Annie Hebler then Matilda Trapper and later a Catherine.
Michael and the others were originally buried in Glenwood Cemetery when it was in Philadelphia, but after the cemetery was destroyed, the bodies were moved to Glenwood in Broomall.

Michael and the others were originally buried in Glenwood Cemetery when it was in Philadelphia, but after the cemetery was destroyed, the bodies were moved to Glenwood in Broomall.
