Born in Lancaster Co., SC, he was a son of the late Ernest Jackson Bird and Beulah Catoe Bird. He was a Salutatorian Graduate of Jefferson High School; and attended the University of South Carolina. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors are his daughter, sons, and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mr. Bird was preceded in death by his wives, Agnes Blackwell Bird and Sara Shealy Bird.
