John Edwin was the first born son of Thomas Moodie. He helped his father when he was very young to shoe horses in his father's Blacksmith Shop in Cleveland, Ohio.
John Edwin Moodie was active in the Clan Grant No. 17 of Scottish Clans for over 70 years. He was retired assignment clerk of the Coyahoga County Common Pleas Court. He was a thirty second degree Mason and a member of the Iris Lodge, Oriental Commandery, Valley of Cleveland Scottish Rite and the Al Koran Shrine. He also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past patron and life member of Liberty Chapter No. 413.
