Larry E. Bartlett, 41, director of Campus Planning at Murray State University, was pronounced dead on arrival at 7:05 a.m. today, Jan. 21, 1981, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital. He had been stricken ill at his home at 2210 Edinborough Drive, Murray.
Mr. Bartlett came to Murray in July 1975 from Mississippi State University where he was an associate professor and landscape architect. At Murray State, he was the landscape architect and was an associate professor.
The associate professor was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church and was president of the Murray-Calloway County Community Theatre Arts, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Biggs Bartlett; three daughters, Shannon Marie, 16, Julie Christine, 12 and Stephanie, 10; two sons, Bryan, 19 and Todd, 15, all of Murray; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Bartlett, of Manhattan, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Pat Schlender, of Manhattan, Kan., and Mrs. Janet Holman, of Leon, Kan.; and one brother, Fred Bartlett, of Michigan.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 1981, at St. Leo's Catholic Church. The Rev. Martin Mattingly will officiate and burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Abilene, Kan.
The Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
