Stanley "Sonny" George Hohman, 69, passed away November 11, 2010. Stan was born August 19th, 1941 in Manhattan, KS to Stan and Vivian Hohman. He attended Washington High School in Kansas City, KS. In 1958, he enlisted in the Marines at age 17 and served in the beginning of the Vietnam War. He was hired on at General Motors Kansas City in 1963 and retired from there after 29 years of service. He was a very hard worker and lived by the motto: "work first, play second". He was married three times and had 2 sons, David and Michael. His third wife, Phyllis Maggio, moved with him to Phoenix in 1997, where they spent their years together until she passed in 2008. Stan is survived by his two sons, his sister Karen Gaines and her 3 sons, Steven, Kevin and Darren Gaines. Stan was a very inventive person, skilled in metals and machinery. He enjoyed fishing trips both locally and to Canada for many years. He will be missed dearly by all his family and friends. Services will be held at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. Inurnment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
