COON VALLEY, Wis. Lee C. Aalgaard, 77, of Coon Valley, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at St. Joseph's Rehab Center in La Crosse.

He was born July 2, 1922, to Ludwig and Ellen (Lee) Aalgaard. He graduated from Westby High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe. Lee was a carpenter who co-owned and operated the Chaseburg Lumber Yard for many years and built many houses in the area. In 1962, he married Randi Hoff at the Coon Valley Lutheran Parsonage.

The couple lived their married life in Petticoat Junction, rural Coon Valley. Randi died Dec. 15, 1987. Lee was a member of the Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church and the Chaseburg American Legion. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Aalgaard (Hajo Stahmer) of Coon Valley and Gina (Steve) Nickelotti of Genoa; six grandchildren, Creed and Anika, Alexis, Erica, Maggie and Trisha; an aunt, Lila Wiedman of La Crosse and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jarvis and a sister, Elizabeth Bekkum. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at 11 a.m. at the Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Pastor Jeff Kallevig will officiate.

Burial with Military Rites by Chaseburg American Legion Post 202 will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
