"Gene" married Alice Jean Olson in 1947. They had three children. Darrell Ford. born at the Marine base in San Diego Camp Penndleton. Freddie , born at Cherry point. and Lucretia Arlene, born in the Parkland hospital.
They were later divorced. Following her death in 1968 , he raised the three children.
He was a career military man.
