YOUTH KILLED
PRESCOTT, Kas. — Hoyt Earl Minatre, about 18. was killed Saturday when his car failed to make a sharp turn and went off Highway 69 about 1 1/2 miles southwest of Prescott. A card in his billfold shows his father is W. E. Minatre of Truth or Consequences. N. M. Sherman Kamens of Kansas City told Earl T. Orneden, undertaker at Pleasanton, that he employed Minatre to drive the car from Dallas to Kansas City.
An unidentified truck driver found the car. with the lights still burning, in the middle of a field. The body, thrown from the car, was found 105 feet from where the car left the highway.
Coroner J.R. Shumway said the car evidently was driven at a high rate of speed.

Hoyt Earl Minatre Killed in Accident
Word has been received here of the death in Prescott, Kan., of Hoyt Earl Minatre, 18, two of whose survivors are residents of Pampa. Killed in an automobile accident Saturday, Hoyt is survived by his parents, Mr. .and Mrs. W. E. Minatre, Hot Springs, N. M., formerly of Pampa; a sister, Mrs. O. W. Love, Kewanee Oil Company camp; and a brother, Jack Minatre. 1220 S. Barnes.
Born in Pampa, Hoyt attended Pampa High School through the sophomore year and was graduated from Hot Springs High School. He played football for four years and received his letter each year.
At the time, of the accident, he had been working near Prescott.
