He served his country in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, the Iraqi War, serving in Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, and in Somalia. While he was in Bagdad he worked with the C.I.A. He retired May 20, 2011 as a Staff Sergeant with thirty-five years service and received numerous citations, commendations and awards during his career. He was a member of the Order of the Spurs.
He was employed as a mechanic with Wal-Mart for the past twelve years and was ASE certified in air conditioning.
He was a Baptist.
Bill was a gun enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons William and Edward; step-son, Shawn; two brothers; two sisters; several nieces and nephews. Military honors will be accorded by the Boone Dam VFW Post #4933
